On many occasions whilst searching Wicklow for landscape compositions I tend to bypass the Vartry Resevoir. On the most northern causeway, the Sugarloaf tends to look ordinary
and drab from this angle. On the morning I exposed this image, I was immediately struck by the special atmosphere as the dawn mist coated the
Sugarloaf and the copse on the western shore. The scene is compressed by the use of a Zeiss APO Sonnar 135mm manual focus lens and
the image still speaks to me 9 months later. Hence, whilst I do not offer many images for sale, I’m happy to do so with this exposure.
