This simple, strong image of the new harbour at Greystones, Co Wicklow was taken during a muted winter sunrise.
The dominant blue hues merge the sea and sky and the harbour floats between the two.
The effect was achieved using a 6 stop Lee ND filter giving an exposure time of 1 minute.
The long exposure rendered the relatively calm harbour water almost monotone but retained some substance to the sky.
A sole cormorant sits on the harbour wall to the left and surprisingly remained quite still for the full exposure.
A metallic, high gloss finish in a boxed frame would greatly suit the image.
